Terms of Use
Last updated 24 July 2026
These terms apply to the Outpost iPhone app. By using Outpost you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Use the app on networks you control
Outpost is built to examine your own home network. Scanning a network you do not own or manage — a workplace, school, hotel, café, or a neighbour's Wi‑Fi — may breach that network's rules or the law where you live. The app asks you to confirm a network is yours before it scans, and you are responsible for that answer. Don't use Outpost to attack, probe, or interfere with anyone else's systems.
What Outpost is, and is not
Outpost gives you information and practical suggestions. It is not a guarantee of safety, and it isn't a replacement for careful judgement or professional security advice.
- A “no problems found” result means Outpost didn't detect anything it looks for — not that a device, message, or account is safe.
- Scam and link assessments are informed judgements. New scams appear constantly, and legitimate messages sometimes look suspicious. Always verify unexpected requests through a channel you already trust.
- Breach and vulnerability results come from third-party databases and reflect only what those databases know.
- Call blocking and message filtering are performed by iOS using lists you provide. Apple limits what any app can filter, and no filter catches everything.
Decisions you make based on Outpost — including changing router settings, blocking a number, or ignoring a message — are yours.
Outpost Pro subscriptions
- Outpost Pro is offered as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription, purchased through your Apple ID.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the period.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in the App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- If a free trial is offered and you subscribe before it ends, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited.
- Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region.
Purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms.
Guardian sharing
If you turn on Guardian sharing, anyone holding your sharing code can see the summary described in the privacy policy. Only share a code with someone you trust, and stop sharing when you no longer want it available.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the app or the services it relies on, and don't use it to break the law or to harass anyone.
Disclaimer and liability
Outpost is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date above will change when we do. Continuing to use the app means accepting the updated terms.
