Common questions
How do I use Outpost in Spanish?
Open Settings, scroll down to Outpost, tap Language, and choose Español. To change your whole phone instead: Settings → General → Language & Region.
Call Guard isn't blocking anything
iOS has to be told to use your list. Open Settings → Apps → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification and turn on Outpost. Then reopen Call Guard and tap Refresh. Each number can either be blocked outright or allowed to ring with a warning label — check which one you chose.
Spam texts aren't being filtered
Open Settings → Apps → Messages → Unknown & Spam, then select Outpost under SMS Filtering. Apple only allows filtering of SMS/MMS from unknown senders: iMessages and messages from your contacts can't be filtered by any app.
Outpost won't scan my network
Make sure you're on Wi‑Fi rather than cellular, and allow the local network prompt when iOS shows it. Outpost also asks you to confirm the network is yours the first time. If you declined the local network permission, enable it under Settings → Outpost → Local Network.
How do I make the app simpler for a parent?
Turn on Simple Mode in Settings → Ease of use, or choose “I'm setting it up for someone else” during setup. It replaces the app with three large buttons — check a message, check your Wi‑Fi, and call someone you trust — and protection keeps running exactly the same.
How does Guardian sharing work?
On the phone being watched, open Guardian → Share mine, name the phone, and send the code that appears. On the other phone, open Guardian → Watch theirs and enter that code. Only a protection score, a count of issues, a device count and timestamps are shared — never devices, messages, or history. Tap Stop sharing to delete the shared summary.
Managing or cancelling Outpost Pro
Subscriptions are handled by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If you reinstalled the app or changed device, tap Restore Purchases in Outpost's Settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.
What does Outpost send over the internet?
Network scanning is entirely on-device. A few features do need the internet — breach lookups, link and number reputation checks, the optional vulnerability lookup, and Guardian sharing. Each is listed in the privacy policy.
